It’s affordable, or at least a lot cheaper than living in Europe, which might be your other option. Food, rent and transportation are all reasonable and Australia is built for a backpacker culture that likes to travel for cheap.
You get to live in Australia! That means the Outback, the Great Barrier Reef, the Great Ocean Road and bunch of other sites are easily accessible before and after your course and during university holidays.
