Support Specialist Many people have heard the advertisement for Barracuda products in recent years. If you have been listening recently you may have noticed advertisements for their Barracuda Backup Service. Here at ETC Computerland we are proud to provide our customers with such a solution.
The Barracuda Backup Service is a complete and affordable data backup solution. Barracuda offers a full local data backup and is combined with a storage subscription to replicate data to two offsite locations. This allows us store your data locally on the device itself making for quick easy restores onsite and gives us the added protection of disaster recovery by securely storing your data offsite. To further increase efficiency and storage requirements Barracuda uses block level deduplication technology so we are not backing up the same file over and over wasting time, space, and money. This technology can reduce your backup requirements 20 to 50 times and it does it all on the fly reducing bandwidth requirements to push your data securely offsite. There are many added advantages with these new systems for our customers as well. With the Barracuda Backup Service, tapes and external hard drives are a thing of the past. This service takes the “human” factor out of your backup process. You will no longer have to switch tapes on a scheduled basis and rotate them offsite for disaster recovery. Your Barracuda does all the work for you and will notify you if there is ever a problem.
Another wonderful cost savings feature for this solution is there is no software or licenses to purchase. That’s right, everything you need for complete backups is taken care of by your Barracuda device. You can back up all of your servers including Exchange, SQL, and system states. If you also require special folders on individual workstations to be backed up you can do that too, all without additional licensing. The only cost to the customer is how much data you decide to push offsite, and with plans starting at as little as fifty dollars per hundred gigabytes this is one of the most cost effective solutions on the market today.
