December Update December has been a busy month! They don't call it the holiday "rush" for nothing. So far this month I participated in a local craft show to raise money to build a playground for C.C. Carrothers Public School. They had a good number of vendors so hopefully they are a lot closer to getting that playground. I've also released some new card designs in my Etsy and Artfire shops. You can see some of them to the left. You can expect a lot more designs coming to my shops throughout December and the new year. I recently shared a "Reflecting on 2009" blog post on my She's Batty Designs blog. I've summed up what happened to me and my biz in 2009 complete with fun pictures! Click here to see it for yourself. I joined a new Etsy team this month called "Crafting in Color". The goal of this team is to keep Etsy bright & colorful, and show that bright colors are not just for summer! I think my greeting cards fit in pretty well with this goal, don't you? :) Handmade Holiday Cards If you still need unique, handmade greeting cards for your gift exchanges, there is still time to have them shipped to you! According to the Canada Post website, if you live within Ontario, the cut off day to get mail to you before Christmas is December 17th. If you live in any other Canadian province, the cut off day is December 16th. If you live in the US, you have until tomorrow (December 14th) so make sure you place your order today so I can ship it out tomorrow morning :)
P.S. Free shipping continues on all my card until the end of the month! Batty's Bath: A New Adventure! Some of you may have already heard that I've started a new and exciting adventure - soap making! I fell in love with bath and beauty products and here's how it all started: I participated in "Craft off the Lot 2009" last month and meet a lot of great artisans and crafters. One of those talent gals was Becky who makes handmade jewelry, soaps and scrubs. I had never bought handmade bath products before but I was totally intrigued by her foot scrub! At the end of the weekend I got some from her (along with 2 bars of handmade soap). My shower time has never been the same since! I actually LOOK FORWARD to having a shower now LOL! Her shop on etsy for her bath products isn't up yet but her new jewelry shop, "Behind the Cellar Door" is really doing well! I can't thank her enough for introducing me to the world of handmade bath products! Since then I've jumped head first into soap making. My family and I are enjoying handmade soap and bath products that I'm tweaking and perfecting! I'm loving the process and my family is feeling totally spoiled! My Etsy shop for my bath products is projected to officially open in Spring of 2010. You can sign up to be notified via Etsy when it officially opens by going to Batty's Bath on Etsy. You can also reach this shop by going to www.BattysBath.com and keep up with my progress on the blog I've set up for Batty's Bath. Looking ahead to January In January I'll be releasing a new non-paper product line in my She's Batty Designs shops. I'm really excited about this new line and all the other things that will come in January. See the picture below for a sneak peak of my new non-paper product line. |
